Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

Buying Optimization Internship – Fuel Optimization Department – La Crosse, WI: Kwik Trip’s Fuel Optimization Department is seeking an Intern who will be responsible for providing assistance to the Fuel Optimization team through a variety of essential clerical tasks relating to the purchase of petroleum, alternative and renewable fuel products. This individual will gain exposure to buying practices and optimization of logistics.

The Fuel Intern’s primary responsibilities include but are certainly not limited to:

• Assist with optimizing petroleum products daily based on markets
• Assist with discrepancies from Suppliers (Fuel and External Haulers)
• Research gains/losses associated to various daily decisions
• Provide reporting assistance for efficiency and financial swings

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Business, Finance or Logistics degree is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of general economic principles and methods
• Knowledge and ability to use personal computers and related software applications
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Skilled in various computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.
• Skilled in task and time management
• Skilled in utilizing resources to problem solve
• Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of responsibilities
• Ability to provide administrative support to the department
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department co-workers, managers, directors, and external vendors.

Work Schedule: This is a paid internship opportunity that will vary in duration, depending upon business needs and graduation date of intern. Interested applicants must be willing to work approximately 15+ hours per week (primarily Monday through Friday during school), with the option to work full time during school breaks.
