CNC Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Location: Pasadena, TX
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
Compensation: $34/hour

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled CNC Machine Operator, Programmer, and Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery, including mills and multi-axis lathes with Fanuc controls. This is a hands-on position that involves both leadership and technical expertise to ensure high-precision production of parts and instruments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, machining, and leadership experience.

Job Type:
Temp-to-perm with the possibility of direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines, including multi-axis lathes and mills.

• Write, enter, and verify CNC machine programs to achieve desired outcomes.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.

• Monitor machining processes, adjusting feed and speed for optimal performance.

• Load and unload raw materials and castings into CNC machinery.

• Use inserts, fixtures, and tooling correctly for efficient machining.

• Conduct quality checks using gauges and measuring instruments to ensure tolerance requirements are met.

• Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions, reporting issues as necessary.

• Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment.

• Lead and train night shift team members, ensuring effective communication and task execution.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the night shift when the Machine Shop Manager is unavailable.

• Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information and improve production.

• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks during the night shift.

• Recommend improvements to machine setups and production processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of CNC Operator/Programmer experience.

• At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.

• Proficient in CNC programming with the ability to write machine commands.

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.

• Experience with Fanuc controls and multi-axis lathes.

• High school diploma preferred; technical school coursework a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience in troubleshooting, quality control, and machine maintenance.
