We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Controller role in Leawood, Kansas, 66211, United States. The Controller will play a pivotal role in operational accounting, overseeing key accounting responsibilities such as monthly close, reconciliations, AP oversight, cash forecasting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly close processes in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with Fund/Separate Account Ops teams to confirm that management fees are recorded and collected accurately.
• Conduct reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, resolve discrepancies, and address outstanding items.
• Manage the NetSuite fixed assets module, ensuring all assets are recorded and tracked accurately.
• Oversee the accounts payable process, reviewing invoices and outgoing payments for timely and accurate processing.
• Collaborate with the CFO to forecast cash needs, including transfers and forecasting.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of accounting process documentation, contributing to the efficiency and clarity of procedures.
• Prepare and review financial statements such as Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc., ensuring they reflect the company's financial health accurately.
• Support the CFO in reporting activities, such as departmental variance analysis and platform profitability.
• Fulfill the CFO's special requests and perform ad hoc financial analyses as required.
• Aid in gathering documentation for external auditors, ensuring all required information is available and organized.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Controller
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding and handling of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes and their execution
• Knowledge of Financial Close Process
• Experience in conducting Monthly Financial Close
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with NetSuite software
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
