Registered Pharmacist (RPh)

Location: 6500 Longley Lane, Reno, NV 89511

Shift Schedule: 8-Hour Night Shift | 7 Nights On / 7 Days Off 

Work Type: On-site (Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Pharmacist (RPh) to join our team for a night shift (graveyard) position. The successful candidate will operate independently with the support of a pharmacy technician, covering pharmacy services for three hospitals and three Free-Standing Emergency Departments (FEDs). This role requires initiative, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload in an acute-care inpatient hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the sole pharmacist on duty during night shifts.
• Oversee and ensure proper medication dispensing and safety for multiple facilities.
• Provide clinical and operational support to nursing and medical staff.
• Utilize automated pharmacy systems and IV laminar flow hoods as needed.
• Accurately document and review medication orders using the electronic medical record system (Cerner experience preferred, training available).
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills and respond effectively to urgent situations.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current Pharmacist license in the State of Nevada (required).

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in an acute-care inpatient hospital setting.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience working night shifts independently in a large healthcare facility.
• Familiarity with Cerner or other EMR systems.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Proficient with basic computer operations and automated pharmacy systems.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership and initiative under pressure.
• Knowledge or willingness to train in using IV laminar flow hoods and other pharmacy equipment.

  Weekly Breakdown:
• Weekly Gross: $ 2,900.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $ 800.00 Per Week
• Stipend(Non-Taxable): $ 2,100.00 Per Week
